General Contractors

General contractors usually manage an entire construction project. The general contractor hires others to get specific jobs done and oversees every step of the process. The general contractor also typically acts as the main contact for the client.

Carpenters

For a home build, carpenters are one of the first contractors on the job site doing hands-on work. Carpenters are responsible for using lumber to make the frame for houses and other projects like staircases, new additions, and more. In other words, carpenters help create the skeleton of projects. Finishing contractors are also usually carpenters and they handle things like countertops, doorframes, and more.

Electricians

Electricians work with the wiring in houses to ensure that everything has a proper power source. This includes mapping out blueprints of wiring the house and installing the electrical systems and wires. Electricians also help maintain and repair any electrical issues in homes.

Plumbers

Plumbers are responsible for all of the piping systems in houses. This includes creating blueprints and installing pipes for water and gas. Plumbers also install the things in your house that use water and gas such as baths, toilets, ovens, and dishwashers. Plumbers can also get contracted for maintenance for various home plumbing and piping issues.

HVAC Contractors

HVAC contractors are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems in homes. Those systems include heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (which all combine to make up the HVAC acronym.

Painters

Painters paint the interior and exterior of homes. This can include providing recommendations for paint colors if the client asks for recommendations. Painters also often handle hanging wall paper for clients who want that instead of paint.

Roofers

Roofers are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing roofs. Some of the tasks that roofers can do is installing shingles and repairing leaks in the roofs.

Landscapers

Landscapers are the contractors who maintain the outdoor areas of property. Landscapers plant and maintain greenery by planting trees and flowers, trimming branches and bushes, pulling weeds, and more.

Masonry Contractors

Masonry contractors are responsible for home materials like bricks, concrete, and stone. Masonry contractors are expected to build, maintain, and repair home-structures that are made from those materials.

While the list of contractors can go on, these are the main ones that we wanted to highlight. If you have more questions about what each of these contractors do, let us know and we will be happy to help provide more information!
