SEO has changed significantly over the years, creating some difficulties for homebuilders and other businesses building new websites. With the new ranking algorithms, it is more important than ever to include original, quality content.
If traditional methods of marketing for your remodeling or building business don’t seem to be working any more, and there are many indications that they aren’t, how can you go about getting leads in this market? Obviously, referrals from existing customers is a great way to get a warm lead, but if you haven’t built a strong referral network for your remodeling business, that may not be providing you the flow of leads that you need to make your sales consistent and growing.
Answers.com recently put the total number of websites on the Internet at 109.5 million. That’s a lot of sites! Some of those sties, of course, belong to contractors and builders. At a recent marketing webinar for builders and remodelers we found that 85 percent of the participants had active websites. Our guess is that—because these people build houses and not websites—most of them paid someone to build a website for them. And while the cost to build a website (like the cost to build a house) can vary pretty dramatically, we’re guessing it wasn’t an insignificant amount.
